ADA Staking Calculator: Estimate Your Cardano Rewards

Estimate Cardano (ADA) staking rewards using your own amount, earning period and net annual rate. Compare simple and conditional compound estimates while keeping costs and the timing of real payouts separate.

Calculate Rewards from Your ADA and Rate Assumption

Enter the ADA that will actually earn rewards, the number of earning days and a net annual percentage rate. The amount and rate start empty because the calculator does not supply a live or guaranteed Cardano APR.

  • MethodSimple estimate
  • Earning period—
  • Rate assumption—
  • One-off costs—
  • A refundable stake-key registration deposit is not counted as a cost or as profit.
  • First reward for a new delegation: commonly about 15–20 days after delegation (epoch N+4), if the pool produces reward-earning blocks.
  • Estimate only. Not a guaranteed or live Cardano staking return.

Use the compounding switch to compare the two methods. If you want to include a one-off transaction cost, enter it separately rather than reducing an already net rate again.

The calculator accepts zero as a deliberate input, but an empty field is not the same as zero. Correct missing, negative or invalid values before treating the result as an estimate.

Read Your Estimated Rewards and Costs

The reward figure shows the estimated ADA earned during the period you entered. The ending balance adds that estimate to your earning principal, while net gain subtracts any separately entered one-off cost.

OutputHow to interpret it
Estimated rewardsA conditional reward amount before the optional one-off cost
Ending balanceEarning principal plus estimated rewards
Net gainEstimated rewards minus the entered one-off fee
Five-day, 30-day and annual equivalentsComparable earning periods at the same assumption, not payment dates

For a hypothetical 1,000 ADA principal and a 3% net annual rate, the simple estimate for 365 earning days is 30 ADA. With the conditional compounding method, it is approximately 30.448184 ADA.

Those figures illustrate the model, not the rate you should expect from a pool. A different stake amount, earning period or observed net rate changes the result.

When Could a New Delegation Receive Its First Reward?

A new delegation passes through snapshots and reward calculation before an initial payout. The first payment commonly arrives about 15–20 days after delegation if the selected pool produces reward-earning blocks.

EpochStage for a delegation submitted in epoch N
NDelegation transaction is submitted
N+1The stake is captured in the next snapshot
N+2That stake becomes active
N+3Rewards for the active epoch are calculated
N+4Those rewards become payable

The estimate above uses earning days, not a promised calendar schedule from the moment you click Calculate. It does not subtract an arbitrary delay from every calculation, because an already active delegation and a newly registered one do not start in the same position.

Use the Cardano staking guide when you need the delegation steps, pool-selection criteria or withdrawal checks. The numerical estimate does not perform those actions for you.

How This Calculator Estimates Staking Rewards

Both methods assume a constant net annual rate over the chosen earning period. Actual pool results can vary, so the formulas are useful for comparing assumptions rather than reproducing a future ledger payout.

Simple Estimate

The calculation is principal × annual rate × earning days ÷ 365. Convert a percentage to its decimal form before multiplying; for example, a 3% input is 0.03 in the formula.

For the hypothetical principal and rate above, 30 earning days produce approximately 2.465753 ADA before a one-off cost. Doubling the principal doubles this simple estimate if the other inputs stay the same.

Conditional Five-Day Compounding

The model adds estimated rewards to principal after each complete five-day interval. Any remaining days use a proportional simple return on the balance after those complete intervals.

In formula terms, let E be the whole number of five-day intervals and L the remaining days. Estimated rewards equal P × (1 + r × 5 ÷ 365)^E × (1 + r × L ÷ 365) − P, where P is principal and r is the decimal annual rate.

This is a simplified comparison method. It does not simulate pool block production, snapshot timing, stake changes or the exact dates on which protocol rewards become available.

Account for Fees and a Refundable Deposit

A net annual rate should already reflect the pool-related effects included in the rate you selected. Registration or delegation transaction fees can still be entered as separate one-off costs.

For a hypothetical 0.20 ADA one-off fee, subtract that amount from estimated rewards to find net gain. Do not subtract it twice by also removing it from a principal that was already entered after costs.

A refundable stake-key registration deposit is different from a permanently spent fee. Keep it separate from profit or loss, and enter the earning principal after allowing for any funds that are not available to earn in your chosen scenario.

Understand What the Estimate Leaves Out

The model does not choose a pool, inspect a wallet, claim rewards or predict the ADA market price. It also cannot guarantee future pool performance, protocol parameters or a stable amount of delegated stake.

If you plan to get ADA with USDT, decide on that exchange independently of the reward scenario. A positive estimated ADA reward does not guarantee a positive result measured in fiat, because Cardano's price can fall.

ADA Staking Calculator FAQ

Can I use zero as the annual rate?

Yes. A deliberate zero rate is valid and produces no estimated reward from the rate assumption. Leaving the field blank instead means the calculator is missing an input.

Does a 30-day estimate mean a payout exactly 30 days from now?

No. The period describes days earning at the assumed rate, not a scheduled payment date. New-delegation timing and pool performance can change when any real rewards become available.

Should I deduct my pool's fees again from net APR?

No. Doing so would count the same pool-related deduction twice if the rate is already net of those effects. Enter genuinely separate transaction costs in the one-off fee field instead.

Do I need to connect a wallet to calculate rewards?

No. The estimate uses the values you enter and does not require a wallet address or signature. Never provide a recovery phrase or private key to obtain a calculation.
